1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how TechPro Security (“TechPro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use AmeniVue, a camera viewing platform for HOA communities and other shared-amenity properties (the “Service”). AmeniVue is a product of TechPro Security.
This policy applies to information collected through amenivue.com and the AmeniVue platform. It covers three groups of users: residents who view cameras in their communities, property managers and administrators who manage the platform on behalf of their communities, and website visitors who browse our marketing pages.
Our core privacy principle is simple: we collect the minimum information necessary to provide the Service, we never track individual viewing behavior, and we never sell personal information to third parties.
2. Information We Collect
From Residents
When residents log in to view their community’s cameras, we collect:
- Unit number — Used to identify the resident’s association with a community.
- Last name (hashed) — Stored as a one-way cryptographic hash. We never store last names in plaintext, and we cannot recover them.
- Session information — A session cookie that expires daily, plus an optional “remember device” cookie if selected.
- Technical information — IP address, browser type, and device type for security and abuse prevention.
We do not collect resident email addresses, phone numbers, or full names. We do not track which cameras any individual resident views.
From Property Managers and Administrators
When a property manager or administrator creates an account, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Property and community information they enter
- Resident directory information they upload (typically unit numbers and last names)
- Account activity and audit logs for security purposes
From Website Visitors
When you visit our marketing pages, we automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate location (city/region only)
- Browser and device type
- Pages visited and time spent on the site
- Referring website
When you submit a contact, demo, or inquiry form, we collect the information you provide (name, email, message, and any other fields in the form).
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Authenticate users and provide the Service
- Display cameras the user is authorized to view
- Send service-related communications and updates
- Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact forms
- Monitor and improve performance and reliability
- Generate aggregate, non-identifying analytics (such as peak viewing hours across a community) — never individual viewing histories
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Camera Streams and Snapshots
AmeniVue is designed to give residents real-time visibility into their community’s shared amenities. Camera content is handled with specific protections:
- Live streams are not recorded. We do not store continuous video footage. Live streams pass through our infrastructure for delivery and are not retained.
- Snapshots are retained for up to 30 days. Periodic still images (snapshots) are captured and stored so residents can see how busy an amenity was earlier in the day. Snapshots older than 30 days are automatically deleted.
- Privacy masking. Property managers can configure privacy masks to obscure specific areas of camera views (such as private property visible from a community camera).
- No facial recognition. AmeniVue does not perform facial recognition or biometric identification.
- AI analysis is limited and aggregate. Where enabled, AI features analyze camera content only to determine generic characteristics like court occupancy or amenity availability. Results are aggregated and not tied to individuals.
Camera owners (typically the property or homeowners’ association) are responsible for ensuring camera placement and use complies with applicable law, including notice requirements where required.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Trusted vendors who help us operate the Service (such as hosting, email delivery, and error monitoring) may process information on our behalf, subject to confidentiality obligations.
- Within your organization. Property managers and administrators have access to information about their own community’s residents, cameras, and aggregate usage.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TechPro, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If TechPro is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use a small number of cookies, all functional or essential:
- Session cookies (
admin_session,viewer_session) — Required for authenticated access. - Remember-device cookie (
viewer_device) — Optional, expires after 30 days. Allows residents to skip re-entering their unit and last name on a trusted device. - Analytics cookies — May be used in limited form for aggregate site analytics. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from using the authenticated parts of the Service.
7. Data Security
We protect information using industry-standard practices:
- All web traffic is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
- Resident last names are stored as one-way cryptographic hashes; we cannot read them.
- Camera credentials and other sensitive information are encrypted at rest.
- Access to production systems is restricted, audited, and limited to authorized personnel.
- Rate limiting and abuse detection are applied to authentication endpoints.
No system is perfectly secure. While we work hard to protect information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as it is needed:
- Active accounts: Information is retained for the duration of the account.
- Camera snapshots: Up to 30 days.
- Live camera streams: Not recorded; retained only briefly in transit.
- Inactive resident data: Retained for up to 90 days after a property manager removes the resident from the directory, then deleted or anonymized.
- Audit logs: Retained for up to 12 months for security and compliance.
- Backup copies: Standard rolling backups may preserve data for up to 30 additional days after deletion from primary systems.
